Not only are Sephora consultants great at recommending beauty products, in addition, the products that they wear can often serve as the source of some of your best beauty buys. Such was the case when I saw the gagalicous lipgloss on a consultant at check-out. The gloss was pink and shiny (my favorite combo) with a little bit of sparkle. I ask her what she’s wearing expecting to hear her rattle off the names of three different products (don’t you hate that?). But, to my surprise she says it’s a Bite Beauty lipgloss. Bite Beauty. Huh? At that time, it was the fist time I’d heard the name Bite Beauty.
I must have walked past the Bite Beauty section at Sephora a hundred times without really noticing their amazing array of products. For those of you not in the know, let me tell you a little something-something about this super cool product line. In addition to the clever name, Bite Beauty is an organic product line that contains organic ingredients like fruit butters and Manuka honey. These choice ingredients make the glosses, balms, and lipsticks almost good enough to eat. The lipsticks are full of other great things like organic moisturizers and protective antioxidants like resveratrol. They even have a lip collection made with agave and vanilla (it’s a three-step collection that scrubs, hydrates, and nourishes).
Bottom line, Bite is a company that values quality ingredients. Now, lets talk about the good stuff — the colors, the formulas, and the products. This is no hippie, artisan company. Bite is cool, modern, and edgy. The colors they offer range from perfect nudes and pretty pinks to punk blacks and disco golds. But the one I fell in love with is the holographic Pink Pearl from the Prismatic Pearl Creme Lip Gloss Collection. This collection of metallic glosses, have a multi-dimensional shimmer found in rare black pearls inspired by Susanne Langmuir’s (Bite’s founder) trip to Tahiti.
I bought the gloss because of the fantastic color, but I was pleasantly surprise by the long wear and the comfortable feel. Most shimmery glosses contain glitter that feels rough and gritty. However, Bite Beauty lip gloss is formulated with shea butter (back to those quality ingredients) which moisturizes and feels amazing. The Sephora consultant said the gloss looks good on top of a nude lipstick but is equally good worn alone. She was right! I sometimes I wear the lipgloss alone, but I’ve also paired it Bite Beauty lipstick in Cava and… I’m. In. Love.
The Takeaway
Bite Beauty products feel good, last long, and come in a beautiful array of colors. Now that I’ve had my first Bite, I can’t wait for more.
