Product Review: Blinc mascara

Blinc mascara

If you’ve read my post about tubing mascaras, you already know how much I love this particular type of mascara. Thankfully, there are a number of brands now to choose from, and I’ve tried most of them. I’m currently using Blinc Mascara Amplified.  Blinc is a cosmetic brand that has a small line of products that include mascaras, eyeliners, lash primers, and something called brow mousse. I kinda like that Blinc is primarily a mascara brand. I figure if you only focus on one thing, that one thing has to be pretty great, right?

This department store brand mascara will run you about $26. I usually buy mine at Sephora. Blinc is a water-resistant mascara that promises buildable length and glamorous volume with no smudging, flaking, running, or clumping. Like most tubing mascaras, the first couple of applications were a little watery. So, I used Blinc with another mascara until it thicken up a bit. But once I got the right consistency, I was in love.

As promised, this stuff gives great length (which is most important to me) and it’s smudge-proof, water-resistant, flake-proof, and sweat-proof (even after 45 minutes on the Stairmaster). And the pièce de ré·sis·tance — this stuff comes off with nothing more than warm water. You read that right, just warm water. No eye maker remover, no rubbing, no scrubbing. It’s not great if you want lots of volume, but maybe if used with the Blinc lash primer, you can build volume too. Hmmm…stay tuned for an update.

The Takeaway: This mascara gives great length. And like all tubing mascaras, it won’t budge but is also easy to remove. I hope they never tinker with the formula because it’s one of my all-time favs.
