Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream and Liquid

I’m always searching for a product to provide all-day hydration in an effort to combat desert air. And it’s a tall task to find a product that hydrates all day, isn’t heavy or greasy, and works well under makeup. But I think I’ve found what I’ve been looking for with Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream and Liquid. It’s no surprise that Dr. Jart+ would deliver a great moisturizer, after all, Dr. Jart+ is the same company that created my all-time favorite sleeping water mask. The Ceramidin Cream is a rich moisturizer infused with ceramides (Ceramide is the main component of the epidermis layer of human skin. Ceramides help to create a water-impermeable, protective organ to prevent excessive water loss due to evaporation).

Ceramidin Cream promises to provide time-release moisture for 26-hours in addition to improving the appearance of fine lines. The cream is also paraben and sulfate free and doesn’t include any artificial colors or fragrance. After researching this product, I was ready to make my purchase. The plan was to combine the cream with my favorite serum — Olehenriksen Truth Serum in the morning and Cosrx Triple C Lighting Liquid at night. But, low and behold, Sephora was running a Weekly Wow sale (I know, what’s a Weekly Wow sale and why haven’t I heard of this before?) on Ceramidin Cream and Ceramidin Liquid (winning!). I nixed my original plan to combine the cream with one of my fav serums in favor of using the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin combo.

Thanks to the Sephora sale, I bought the Ceramidin Cream for $29.00 (normally $48.00) and the Ceramidin Liquid for $24.00 (normally $38.00). I first try the duo in the morning after cleansing and toning. I apply the liquid first immediately followed by the cream. The serum is light and absorbs beautifully into my skin. The cream looks thick but feels very light and also absorbs quickly. Neither of the products have an overwhelming scent, which I love. The first thing I notice after I applying the combo is how fresh and dewy my skin looks (like after a spa visit), and not the least bit oily.

I’ve tried other moisturizers that hydrate really well initially. But, by 2:00 p.m., those same moisturizers leave my skin feeling tight and dry. It’s as fit all of the moisture has been zapped out of my face. So much so, that I usually carry a small bottle of facial mist in my purse. However, just as the Ceramidin Cream promised, I experienced perfectly hydrated skin all day. I guess I can leave that travel-size facial mist at home? Oh, and my makeup went on just a little bit smoother than usual — even without a primer. I love the results of Ceramidin so much that I sometimes use at night too. This may be a premature prediction, but I think this might be a holy-grail level moisturizing combo.

What’s your go-to moisturizer?
