Tubing Mascara Is Everything

Tubing Mascara Is Everything

Ever heard of tubing mascara?

Yes. Great, you can move on and read the review of my absolute favorite tubing mascara.

No. Man you’re missing out! But don’t fret. I’ve got your back. I’ll explain what it is and why you should buy a tube — or two.

If someone asked me the perennial product junkie question: What’s the one makeup product that you can’t live without? Instantly, without even thinking, I would blurt out, “mascara!” Even if I don’t wear any other drop of makeup, I always swipe on at least one coat of mascara everyday. And when I discovered tubing mascara, it changed the game! Unlike traditional mascaras which are made with oil and wax, tubing mascaras are made with a polymer that actually wraps around each indiviual lash. Before we get all scientific on you, simply put, tubing mascaras offer smudge-free application and ease of removal.

After trying just about every kind of mascara from luxuroius department store brands to pragmatic drug store finds, I know what I don’t like — smudging. Typically, smudge-free mascaras are waterproof formulas. Although you don’t have to worry about smudges with waterproof mascaras, they are a pain to remove at the end of the day. Not to mention that using waterproof mascaras come with the added cost of buying a heavy-duty waterproof eye makeup remover. However, with tubing mascaras there’s no need for remover because it comes off completely with just warm water. Yup, warm water. And yet, tubing mascaras are waterproof and totally smudge-free. I don’t how that’s possible, but I’m not going to question it. I rather live in ignorant bliss.

Every now and then, I still can’t resist the urge to place the latest must-have mascara into my little black Sephora basket. And for a while, I’m happy. But, as soon as I spot a smudge,  spend too much time trying to remove every last trace of black ink, or wake up with the dreaded raccoon eyes, I find myself back on the tube.

Now before you run out the door to buy one of these wonder mascaras, let me share a few things you should know. First, tubing mascaras are a little watery fresh out the tube. It’s like it take a fews days to thicken up. I suggest you use the tubing mascara to layer with another mascara for the first week. Second, when you wash off your mascara, don’t be afraid of what you see in the sink (or shower). It may look like you just washed off your lashes, but actually it’s just the polymer tubes. And lastly, tubing mascaras tend to dry out quickly, so make sure you tighten that cap. A couple to try out: Blinc, FAIRYDROPS, or d.j.v Miaray Fiberwig. You’ll thank me later.
